INNOTRANS 2016: Results and prospects

Between 20th and 23rd of September German capital Berlin housed the 11th InnoTrans Fair, the largest world railway industry event.

 

For four days on the total area of 220 000 square meters in 40 pavilions and 2 open grounds 2950 participant companies from 60 countries demonstrated their developments in technology and equipment for railway transport to specialists. This year was marked by the record number of visitors – 145 000 persons. 

Unique concept of InnoTrans is in integration of specialized exhibition in pavilions, railway track exposition and wide presentation and conference program within one event. This combination makes Berlin fair effective grounds for huge deals making between world manufacturers and consumers of railway technologies and vehicles as well as deal making in the field of inspection and technical diagnostics.

 

AO “Firma TVEMA” has been a regular participant of Berlin forum for six years demonstrating its wide range of products. This time Company stand made in traditional company colors demonstrated well-proven both in Russian Federation and in European Union diagnostic systems (LDM high-rail car based on UAZ-PATRIOT road car performed diagnostics on Estonian and Latvian Railways) as well as new products of the Company – high-speed diagnostic systems (high-speed ultrasonic system, track geometry measurement and video inspection) and manual complex for diagnostics of railways and metros PT-12M. Traditionally, one of the most popular among Russian Railway staff – portable hand-held Echo-Pusle NDT unit was demonstrated.

 

During the forum delegations from Russian Railways, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, OSJD visited the Company stand. As a part of InnoTrans 2016 another international conference “Railway Mechanical Engineering: Manufacturers Partnership 1530 and 1435” was held, where in particular summarizing and awarding of the 7th annual contest of OAO RZD for the best quality of vehicles and complex technical systems was performed. The prize for the development of high-speed diagnostic vehicle was awarded to TVEMA.

 

During four days of the forum TVEMA delegation held dozens of business meetings with partners and agents from different countries. Prospects of future cooperation were discussed in the meetings with representatives of railways and metros of Russia, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Israel, China, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, India, Iran as well as world largest diagnostic technology manufacturers – Alstom, Plasser & Theurer, DB Systemtechnik, Moser etc. Discussion with France Railways representatives (SNCF) on the prospects of high-speed NDT equipment installation on French vehicles was successfully finished. An important result of TVEMA management efforts was signing of the agreement with American HARSCO Corporation, that provides cooperation in promotion of innovative diagnostic products to USA, Brazil and Australia markets.

 

Results of work at InnoTrans 2016 give our Company hope that our innovative products will find potential customers both in Russia and all over the globe that will transform into mutually beneficial contracts as it happened for the results of previous fairs.
